Handcrafted candles and French know-how

These elegant decorative candles are handcrafted by one of the last remaining candle makers in France, which maintains the French know-how. The ancestral method of candle making known as "à la plongée" allows the candles to be conical, thinner towards the top.

The cotton wicks are placed in a U-shape on wooden sticks, fixed on frames and then dipped in wax by the wax craftsmen. The colour pigments are sprinkled into the melted wax. The colours obtained are lively and sometimes surprising to create unexpected shades.

The wax used is high quality wax. that burns slowly and does not emit smoke. Once lit, the candle offers a soft and pleasant glow.

The candlesticks being very thin at the base can also be accommodated by our brass holder/adapter which allows you to reduce the diameter of your classic candlestick (glass, crystal, vintage, etc.). If the base of the candle is too wide, a slight incision at the base is all that is needed to fit it correctly into the candleholder. If the base of the candle is too thin, you can use a piece of cardboard or paper to wedge it in.
